Founded by educators who had seen what personalized attention could do, BrightPath exists to make that level of support available to every family in Raleigh.
Our Story
BrightPath Academic Tutoring was founded in 2014 by Ms. Keisha Brown and Mr. Daniel Park — two Raleigh teachers who kept watching students fall behind in classrooms too large to give them the individual attention they needed. They knew from experience that twenty minutes of focused, personalized instruction could unlock what weeks of group lessons had failed to reach.
What started as afternoon sessions out of a rented conference room on Lake Boone Trail has grown into a full tutoring center serving hundreds of students from Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Wake Forest, and Apex. We added Ms. Sofia Rivera to the team in 2016 — and the three of them remain the core of what makes BrightPath different: real teachers, not tutors-for-hire.
Our founding philosophy has never changed: every student has a path to success. Our job is to find it.
The BrightPath Difference
Every BrightPath tutor holds a state teaching certification or a degree in their subject area. We don't hire college students or generalists — we hire people who make it their profession to teach.
After the free assessment, every student gets a written learning plan with clear goals, a realistic timeline, and the specific strategies their tutor will use. No one-size-fits-all approach.
Parents receive a monthly progress report with objective data — not vague impressions. We track specific skills, grade improvements, and confidence benchmarks so you always know what's working.
